Finance Manager
Location: Winchester (Hybrid working - 2 days in the office, 3 days from home)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits

We are working on behalf of a well-established organisation with a nationwide presence to recruit an experienced Finance Manager. This is a key leadership role within the finance function, managing a small team and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of finance activities across the business.
The successful candidate will be a confident people manager with a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will have responsibility for the finance team, consisting of 5 direct reports (3 full-time, 2 part-time), and will oversee core financial operations while supporting business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, ensuring all monthly and routine finance tasks are completed accurately and on time
* Oversee monthly management accounts preparation, including reconciliations and variance analysis
* Perform and review balance sheet and control account reconciliations
* Monitor monthly actual costs, providing insight and commentary
* Produce and maintain a suite of cost reports, trend analysis, and financial summaries
* Ensure payroll is accurately checked, approved, and submitted within deadlines
* Provide audit support, including preparation and maintenance of supporting documentation
* Oversee stock take processes, monitoring discrepancies and accounting for adjustments
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes
* Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial policies, and statutory requirements
* Act as a key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business
* Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency

About You
* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar role
* Strong people management and leadership skills
* Proactive, organised, and able to manage day-to-day finance operations effectively
* Solid understanding of reconciliations, reporting, and financial controls
* Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across departments

Benefits
* Salary of £45,000 - £50,000 per annum
