HR Recruitment Officer - Northern MarineReporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the management reporting function of one or more Business Units within the Northern Marine Group ("NMG"). As Finance Business Partner you will be a trusted advisor to, and work closely with, the Business Unit Head providing accurate, relevant, reliable, timely, and consistent financial and non-financial information that supports decision making. As Finance Business Partner you will also be responsible for driving the periodic forecasts and annual budgets to support the long-term strategic planning. You will be expected to lead the improvement of financial management and decision making and to influence the development of strong effective controls and reporting within NMG.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain strong collaborative relationships with Business Unit Head(s) and other key stakeholders to improve their financial understanding.Be a trusted advisor on financial matters driving stakeholder engagement to ensure successful financial strategy and operational efficiency.Identify cost saving opportunities and deliver insightful analysis.Review of monthly management accounts for all companies within the assigned Business Unit.Preparation of monthly Business Unit reports and analysis for the Business Unit Head and senior management.Preparation of periodic cashflow projections.Working with the Business Unit Head to produce annual budgets and periodic forecasts.Continuously improve the finance processes and develop and implement new processes where appropriate.Review of quarterly submission of accounts to parent company.Management and support of Finance staff, including annual appraisals.Assistance with the external audit process.Ensure compliance within the team for company working instructions and agreed policies and procedures.Identification of process improvements and efficiencies.Assisting senior management with ad hoc requests, projects, reports and research.QualificationsA full Professional Accountancy Qualification ACCA/CIMA/CA/ACA is essentialPrevious experience in a demanding corporate role, with oversight of multiple companies and proven experience in team leadership.Proven experience in a business partnering role with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.Experience of running and performing budgeting or forecasting processes.Excellent analytical ability with a good attention to detail.Understanding of financial regulation and legislation.Management and leadership experience.Good time management skills, ability to prioritise workload and ability to work to strict reporting deadlines.Commercial and business awarenessHigh numeracy and technical skillsAdvanced MS Excel skills.The Finance Business Partner role demands a mix of business understanding, financial expertise, line management, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders and drive business success.The role offers the opportunity for Hybrid working and is dependent on commercial demandsAdditional informationSeniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Accounting/Auditing, Finance, and Business DevelopmentIndustries: Maritime TransportationWe’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
