Finance Business Analyst

Job Description
Our client, one of the best known and well loved global names in the design and sale of luxury goods are looking for a Business Analyst (Finance) to join their growing team. This role is to help identify business needs within the Finance department and lead process review and define change requirements. We are supporting them, to find an experienced BA with a credible finance background, who is looking for their next contract/project (this is a 6 month FTC).
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Process Mapping and Documentation:
- Create meaningful documentation, engage in research, and investigate process improvement opportunities (either for stand-alone enhancements, or as part of a larger program)
- Data Mapping to identify and validate relationships, sources and target systems, maintain comprehensive documentation
Current State vs. Future State Analysis:
- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, potential risks and mitigation opportunities in current processes.
- Design and implement innovative solutions to address business challenges and enhance the functionality of ERP systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define future state processes including benefit analysis and success criteria
- Collaborate with supporting applications, PMO and cross-functional business partners in roadmaps and implementation plans to transition from current state to future state, identifying key systems and integrations in the process.
Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyse business processes, and identify opportunities for improvement. Document business requirements through interviews, workshops, and analysis. Be a trusted and empathetic partner.
- Translate business requirements into logical specifications for development teams
- Review business requirements and feed back to consulting partners any alignment issues or gaps.
- Work with Technology SMEs, and end-users to design, configure, and customise ERP solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements
- Analysing and assessing any Change Requests against documented business benefits throughout the life cycle of the project
Journey Mapping:
- Develop customer and user journey maps to understand interactions and experiences.
- Identify pain points and opportunities for process improvements.
- Turn individual metrics, into KPIs, to be incorporated and used to measure the impact of process changes.
Stakeholder Management:
- In conjunction with the Finance Transformation Manager act as a liaison between business units and IT to ensure alignment and understanding
- Identify stakeholders impacted by change to ensure business expectations are managed through timely communications and business readiness for change is fully understood
- Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of ERP implementations.
- Plan and execute user acceptance testing and quality assurance activities to ensure that solutions are fit for purpose and meet user expectations.
- Assist in developing training materials and sessions for end-users and stakeholders on the features, benefits, and usage of ERP solutions
- Assist with change management efforts
- Collect and analyse feedback and data from end-users and stakeholders on the performance and impact of ERP solutions.
Skills and experience required:
- Experience in supporting and implementing financial systems solutions (i.e. budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, inventory management)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Process redesign experience
- Able to map business processes into process flow diagrams
- Able to manipulate data in Excel, using intermediate formulae skills
- Practical experience of PowerBI, SQL query building
- At least 3 years of experience in Dynamics 365 or AX 2012 Finance and Accounting.
- Degree in MIS, finance, accounting or business is desirable
This is a 6 month FTC, hybrid working with 3 days working in their plush West London office and 2 days from home.
