Hours: MondayFriday, 9am5pm
Looking for a varied finance role where no two days are the same? This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a friendly and busy office team on an 11-month maternity cover contract. Working within a small, supportive environment, this role offers exposure to a wide range of finance and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and taking ownership of their work.
About the role
This position sits at the heart of a busy office, supporting finance processes across several entities and providing key administrative support to the wider team. The successful candidate will play an important part in keeping financial operations running smoothly.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with banking tasks across multiple entities, including setting up payments, bank downloads and reconciliations
- Supporting payroll administration, including providing monthly hours and assisting with overseas pension administration
- Credit control activities, including contacting clients regarding outstanding payments
- Producing weekly financial reports and monitoring unpaid invoices
- Assisting with invoicing processes and checking draft invoices when required
- Supporting external accountants with queries and documentation
- Managing finance-related administration such as expense processing, FX rate updates and client forms
- Providing general administrative support to the wider team
- Supporting with company processes including health and fire safety administration
- Assisting with office coordination tasks when required

Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience working within an accounts or finance environment
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
- Confident communication skills for liaising with colleagues, clients and accountants
- A proactive and supportive attitude
