A well-established
manufacturing business in Sunderland
is seeking a
Financial Accountant (temp to perm)
to join its site-based finance team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a
qualified accountant
to step into a broad, hands-on role with
team leadership responsibility , offering a clear pathway into a Financial Controller position.
You'll be joining a
busy manufacturing environment , working closely with operations and taking ownership of key financial processes while supporting and guiding a small finance team.
The Role
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the finance function while developing your leadership experience.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing
monthly financial accounts and reporting
Maintaining strong
financial controls and processes
Supporting and
leading a small finance team
Overseeing balance sheet reconciliations and accuracy
Supporting
budgeting and forecasting
Working closely with operational stakeholders on site
Ensuring deadlines are met and reporting is accurate
This is a
hands-on role
with real responsibility and visibility across the business.
About You We are looking for a
qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
with experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
You will ideally:
Have experience in a
Financial Accountant or Management Accountant role
Be confident in
financial reporting and controls
Have experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
Be looking to take on more responsibility and
develop leadership skills
Be comfortable working in a
fast-paced, operational environment
This role is ideal for someone looking to
step up and progress towards the Financial Controller level .
