Job Description
Field Service Engineer
Somerset / South & South West (Field Based)
£38,000 to £42,000 DOE + Benefits
Permanent, Full Time
This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in water treatment, filtration or electro-mechanical engineering. You’ll be out on-site most days, supporting customers, keeping systems running smoothly, and representing a growing business with a strong reputation for quality. A full UK driving licence is essential.
If you come from a Royal Engineers or REME background, you’ll feel right at home. Full training is provided where needed.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance and support of water treatment systems across the South and South West. Day to day you’ll get involved in:
Servicing and maintaining water treatment systems
Membrane exchanges and installing replacement parts
CIP work and chemical management
Fault finding and problem solving
Writing risk assessments and method statements
Daily reporting and clear communication with customers
Identifying opportunities to add value on site
Ensuring pilot and rental systems are operating correctly
Planning and coordinating site visits
Additional Involvement:
Supporting with system builds and commissioning
Assisting on installations and project work
Attending customer meetings and presentations
Gathering data from pilot systems

Comfortable building long-term relationships with clients
Competent with MS Office
Full driving licence (required)
Qualifications & Experience:
Time-served apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical engineering, and/or
Degree in process, chemical, electrical or mechanical engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a practical, hands-on engineering role
Experience with PLC/HMI basics is beneficial
