About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Service Technician to join our Service Team in Manchester. Reporting directly to the Service Manager, this role plays a key part in maintaining customer equipment on-site and supporting workshop activities for our aftermarket service operations.
The ideal candidate will be based in the Manchester area. When not attending customer sites, the role will be based at our facility in Middleton.
You will primarily work at customer sites across the UK and overseas, providing installation, commissioning, servicing, and maintenance support.
With an emphasis on mechanical systems—including pumps, rotating equipment, vacuum, and pressure systems—you’ll play a key role in driving process improvements and maintaining strong customer relations while managing your schedule effectively to maximize productivity.

Key Responsibilities
Provide on-site support for service maintenance and workshop tasks.
Prepare and approve work packs for service team activities.
Perform mechanical completion checks, factory acceptance tests, electrical function/loop checks, and leak/pressure testing.
Compile detailed technical reports on customer equipment.
Deliver aftersales support, including inspections, spare part identification, and technical advice.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
Work closely with internal stakeholders and engineering teams.
Maintain accurate documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
Travel daily to customer sites as required.
Qualifications & Skills
Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship (C&G, ONC, HNC).
Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Experience with installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems.
Understanding of industry standards and wastewater procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Interpersonal Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and tasks independently.
