Field Service Engineer - Critical Power

The Role:

As a Service Engineer, you'll play a key role in ensuring customers have reliable power when they need it most. The area is Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and West Sussex:

  • Servicing, maintaining, and repairing generators, UPS systems, batteries, switchgear, and control systems
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out testing and inspections
  • Installing and commissioning critical power equipment
  • Responding to breakdowns and delivering fast, effective solutions
  • Conducting load bank testing, site surveys, and system investigations
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and apprentices
  • Producing accurate service reports and documentation
  • Identifying additional service or sales opportunities

You:
  • Strong electrical/mechanical engineering background
  • Experience with generators, UPS systems, or critical power equipment (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently and manage on-site activities
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel, work on-call, and occasionally stay away overnight
  • Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship
