About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our growing team within the plant and construction equipment industry. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and construction machinery at customer sites.

The successful candidate will be a skilled engineer with strong diagnostic abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving, ensuring machines are repaired efficiently and safely while delivering excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, service, and repair plant and construction equipment on customer sites. Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and breakdown repairs. Fault find on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Complete service reports and documentation accurately. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations. Communicate effectively with customers to provide updates and technical advice. Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment to a high standard.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer or similar role within the plant, construction, or heavy equipment industry. NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or equivalent qualification (). Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. Experience working on construction machinery such as excavators, dumpers, loaders, or similar equipment. Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Full UK driving licence. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role.

Desirable Skills

Manufacturer training or certifications. Experience with modern diagnostic tools and telematics systems. Welding or fabrication skills.
