Sales Engineer

Up to £45,000 Basic + Commission + Car + Full Benefits
Field-Based | UK Region

I'm working exclusively with a well-established and growing engineering services business that is now looking to appoint a Sales Engineer to support continued expansion across process and industrial markets.

The Role

As Sales Engineer, you will take ownership of a defined region, selling and promoting a comprehensive portfolio of process instrumentation, calibration, and inspection solutions.

You'll be responsible for developing existing accounts, winning new business, and supporting larger project opportunities - working closely with internal sales, marketing, and technical teams.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct on-site visits with existing and prospective customers

  • Build and grow long-term customer relationships within process industries

  • Maximise sales across products and services within the region

  • Identify and develop new sales channels and opportunities

  • Take a lead role in major customer agreements and larger project bids

  • Manage sales pipelines, forecasting, and opportunity tracking

  • Support tenders and bids for complex, high-value projects

  • Maintain accurate CRM records of all customer interactions

  • Provide market and competitor insight to support marketing strategy

  • Work collaboratively with internal sales and marketing teams


Background & Experience Sought
  • Engineering background with exposure to electrical engineering

  • Experience selling into process industries, automation, or control instrumentation

  • Understanding of process instrumentation and calibration within production environments

  • Confident working with engineers, buyers, and senior stakeholders

  • Strong consultative and solution-based sales approach

  • Full UK driving licence (field-based role)


Desirable Experience
  • Knowledge of Endress+Hauser, Eurotherm, or similar automation products

  • Experience selling calibration or inspection services, including DSEAR

  • NVQ Level 3 (Electrical Installations) or equivalent
