Field Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) Agriculture & Estates

Location:Lincoln / Sleaford / Central Lincolnshire (Field-Based)
Pay:£19.35 per hour
Job Type:Full-Time, Permanent
Hours:Monday to Friday, Days (with on-call rota)

This role can be based anywhere across theLincoln or Sleaford area, making it ideal for engineers living within Central Lincolnshire who want a field-based position without being tied to a single site.

RecruitME is working with a large, multi-site agricultural estate to recruit aField Maintenance Engineer. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role with a strongmechanical bias, ideal for an engineer who enjoys variety, autonomy and working in outdoor, operational environments.

Youll be responsible for keeping agricultural assets, estate buildings and infrastructure safe, compliant and fully operational working independently across sites while collaborating closely with estate maintenance coordinators and fellow engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and repair of agricultural machinery, estate equipment and infrastructure

  • Delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules to minimise downtime

  • Electrical testing, repairs and installations (within certification and competency)

  • Breakdown diagnostics and rapid resolution of mechanical and electrical faults

  • Maintenance of estate buildings, poultry sheds and associated facilities

  • Accurate completion of maintenance records and compliance documentation

  • Adherence to all Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work

  • Flexible response to urgent maintenance issues across multiple sites

  • Collaboration with maintenance coordinators, contractors and estate management teams

About YouEssential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as aMulti-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Technician

  • Strongmechanical biaswith hands-on fault-finding capability

  • Electrical qualification (e.g.18th Edition, ECS or equivalent) or strong demonstrable electrical experience

  • Background in agricultural machinery, poultry environments, heavy plant, estates or industrial equipment

  • Comfortable working independently in afield-based, multi-siterole

  • Full UK driving licence (up to 6 points for insurance purposes)

  • Strong diagnostic, problem-solving and time-management skills

Desirable

  • Experience withinagriculture, estates, manufacturing or industrial maintenance

Working Hours & Rota

  • Monday to Friday, daytime hours

  • On-call rota covering weekdays and weekends (shared with other engineers)

  • Overtime available but not mandatory

On-Call & Earnings Details

  • Minimum of 4 hours paid at 1.5x ratefor every on-call callout, regardless of time worked

  • Additional on-call weeks beyond 10 per yearpaid at£122.50 per week
