FIBRE SUPERVISOR - MIDLANDS
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
Field connections Lead is a pivotal role in supporting the connections delivery the business key activity. As our client continues to scale at pace, the Connections Lead will ensure the day-to-day connection targets are met. The role is responsible for successful delivery of all planned connections, whilst ensuring capable resources are available for the forecasted connections visible in the future pipeline. The Lead will ensure that contractors delivering connections do so on time, to budget, to the agreed quality standards and in accordance with all safety requirements. Connection Lead’s will also undertake and record quality assurance by carrying out quality checks (audits and observations). The Lead will work closely daily with the Provisioning Team, Planning Team, IOC and Connections coordinator.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for the Day-2-Day delivery of connections within area and to include:
• Quality of works undertaken.
• Customer satisfaction of engineer (contractor) visit.
• DFE’s
• Working with the Field Connections team to ensure that connections are managed to budget and that incremental costs from 3 rd party contractors are managed appropriately.
• Liaise with the WAC ensuring smooth on the day delivery keeping all stakeholders informed of progress, particularly if potential delay occurs.
• Day-2-day communication with contractors assigned to surveys and connections.
• Advise the field teams appropriately reviewing surveys with issues to ensure connection delivery can be met.
JOB DESCRIPTION
• To act as a technical process expert, advising and coaching Technicians in the Field, ensuring all activities are completed to our company specification and that the integrity of our network is maintained.
• Ensuring that appropriate risk assessments / method statements are in place and that all customer connection engineers are trained and aware of responsibilities.
• Day to day liaison with local authority’s highways & street work teams as required.
• Ordering and supply of stock / materials as required.
• Professional representation of ITS with internal and external customers.
• KPI reporting and daily reporting of issues, failures and incompletes.
• Perform Quality Audits utilising the Lumiform app in line with SHEQ requirements and amounts per day /week
About you
You will have a demonstrable record of accomplishment of:
• Professional Qualification (degree or significant industry experience)
• Utilities Supervisory Experience
• NRSWA/Highways Experience
• Intermediate in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point)
• OSP Telecoms Network Build
• Fibre Optics Splicing & OTDR testing (Desirable)
• Blown & traditional cable installation (Desirable)
• Valid Streetworks Supervisor Certification • Full driving licence • Fibre Optic/Fibre Installation Certification (Désirable)
• CSCS Construction Site Supervisor Card (Desirable)
• Knowledge of Telecoms based project types on the Network Rail Infrastructure in accordance
• with Network Rail standards and CDM2015
• Openreach PIA (Physical Infrastructure Access) Accreditation
• Understanding of Civils infrastructure builds
• NRSWA accredited
• Excellent inter-personal and communications skills
• Good working knowledge of company's products
• Ability to quickly assimilate knowledge from outside own area of expertise
