Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Family Support Worker to join a North East Local Authority on a temporary assignment. This role is initially for three months, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Overview:
The Family Support Worker will provide practical and emotional support to children and families, working closely with the wider team to promote positive outcomes for children. The role involves direct work with children, supervising family time, and supporting key assessment and recording activity.
Main Duties:
* Supervising family time between children and families within the community or community centres
* Completing direct work with children in line with care plans
* Supporting the team by completing Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaires with caregivers
* Recording key information including last dental date
* Completing life story work with children
* Supporting parents to develop and strengthen their parenting skills
* Maintaining accurate and up to date case records
Essential Criteria:
* Full driving licence with access to own vehicle
* Enhanced DBS certificate
* Experience working directly with children and families
* Experience supervising family time or contact sessions
* Ability to complete direct work with children
* Experience supporting parents to develop parenting skills
* Ability to complete basic assessments and record information accurately
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
