A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Electrician to join a leading engineering/manufacturing environment operating to high technical and safety standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on position, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in maintaining equipment to the highest possible level.

The Role

You'll be responsible for delivering safe, efficient electrical and mechanical maintenance across a busy operational site. Working both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, you'll ensure equipment uptime, support continuous improvement, and keep the facility operating smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repair, installation, servicing, testing, and commissioning across a range of plant, machinery, and building services.

Undertake Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Work in line with Health & Safety policies, workplace regulations, and best-practice guidelines at all times.

Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, including permits to work, risk assessments, and service logs.

Liaise with external contractors to ensure work is completed safely, effectively, and on schedule.

Support site improvement initiatives such as energy-saving, waste reduction, and environmental programmes.

Communicate effectively with managers and colleagues to prioritise workload and resolve issues promptly.

What You'll Need (Essential)

18th Edition Wiring Regulations

NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline (or equivalent)

Experience in facilities maintenance, building services, or industrial/electrical maintenance

Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

Good IT skills (MS Office)

Full, clean UK driving licence

Desirable

HNC/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

Basic plumbing knowledge

Understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement

Knowledge of energy efficiency or contractor control processes
