Facilities Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Safety:
* In collaboration with the HSE Manager, ensure compliance with all onsite environmental, health, safety, and security legislation.
* Maintain accurate records for audits and statutory inspections (e.g. fire safety, electrical systems, HVAC).
Facilities Management:
* Manage all facilities to ensure optimised operations, monitored via the integrated Building Management System (BMS).
* Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance programmes to ensure reliability and minimise downtime.
* Manage contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and adherence to company standards.
Collaboration & Business Support:
* Work closely with onsite teams and facility support contractors to ensure company business plans and operational objectives are met.
* Collaborate with the Engineering team on specific projects as required.
Projects & Infrastructure::
* Manage and facilitate new builds, renovations, refurbishments, and office moves.
* Support sustainability initiatives and energy efficiency improvements across the site.
Essential Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge and Candidate Attributes Required:
* HNC or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related Engineering discipline.
* Proven experience working within facilities engineering or building services management, ideally gained from a Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
* Experience in managing capital projects and refurbishments.
* Knowledge and understanding of EHS practices, including risk assessment and permit-to-work systems.
* Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, health and safety legislation, and environmental compliance.
* Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and facilities monitoring tools.
* Excellent organisational and project management skills.
* Ability to manage contractors and negotiate service agreements effectively.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams.
It would be advantageous if the successful candidate is IOSH or NEBOSH qualified however this is not essential.
