Job Description

Senior Executive Assistant

City of London (Near Aldgate) | Hybrid – 4 days office / 1 day WFH

Up to £65,000 + excellent benefits

A highly regarded international insurance firm is seeking an accomplished Senior Executive Assistant to provide trusted, high-level support to senior leaders while playing a key role in developing a growing administrative function.

This is a strategic EA role, ideal for someone who enjoys operating as a true business partner rather than purely diary management. Alongside supporting senior stakeholders, you’ll act as a mentor to junior EAs, helping to shape best practice and raise standards across the team (without direct line management).

Based in their London office, you’ll collaborate closely with a small, close-knit admin team and work with stakeholders across Europe and the Middle East. The business offers real autonomy, visibility, and the opportunity to influence how the EA function continues to evolve.

Experience within professional services is essential, and candidates with legal sector exposure will be particularly well received.

The Role

  • Provide proactive, high-quality executive support to senior leaders
  • Manage complex diaries, meetings and international travel across multiple time zones
  • Oversee a shared inbox supporting c.40 London-based stakeholders
  • Take ownership of broader administrative and operational responsibilities beyond traditional EA duties
  • Work closely with global colleagues across Europe and the Middle East
  • Support marketing and events activity, including guest lists, mailshots and materials
  • Partner with the operations team on wider business initiatives
  • Mentor and support two junior assistants, sharing knowledge, guidance and best practice

About You

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or Personal Assistant supporting senior leadership
  • Background within professional services (legal sector experience highly advantageous)
  • Exceptionally organised with strong judgement and attention to detail
  • Confident, proactive and comfortable working with high levels of autonomy
  • Adaptable, hands-on and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Genuinely enjoys supporting and developing junior colleagues
  • A natural self-starter who takes initiative and ownership

Key Details

  • Hybrid working: 4 days in the office, 1 day WFH
  • Salary: up to £65,000 (dependent on experience)
  • Start date: January preferred
  • Interviews taking place in January
  • Legal sector experience: highly beneficial
  • Mentoring experience: desirable but not essential
