Your new role A Quantity Surveyor is responsible for assessing the client's requirements and reviewing project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work, materials, and labour needs. They collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure accurate cost estimates. Site visits are conducted to gather essential information, and quantities are measured using specialised software to prepare the Bill of Quantities. The QS prepares and issues enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, analyses their proposals to ensure alignment with client expectations, and identifies risks and opportunities to inform pricing decisions.
