Overview:
We are seeking an Estimator based in the North West as part of their preconstruction team. You’ll be responsible for preparing competitive estimates and bid materials for both traditional and design & build contracts, supporting projects ranging from £50,000 to £15 million across public and private sectors, including education, healthcare, leisure, industrial, and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review Bills of Quantities (BQ), drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
* Conduct tender site visits
* Execute accurate quantity take-offs and prepare tender-stage Bills of Quantities
* Price labour, plant, and material costs
* Develop subcontract trade package enquiries
* Produce tender risk assessments and cost plans
* Provide value engineering and early-stage cost advice
* Manage and communicate estimates, ensuring smooth handover and integration with client teams
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* Experience working autonomously and within a team
* Strong organization, time-management, and deadline-driven mindset
* Proficiency with estimating software and general IT tools
* Relevant construction-related qualifications and estimating experience
* Motivated, detail-oriented, and committed to continuous improvement
