The Role
Our Client have been established for over 50 years. They specialise in Steel structures for both commercial and industrial settings. They are seeking an experienced Steelwork Estimator to join our growing commercial team. You will be responsible for taking projects from the initial inquiry stage through to final tender submission, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness and profitability.
You will work on a diverse range of projects including industrial portal frames, commercial structures, access platforms, staircase and architectural metalwork.
Key Responsibilities
Detailed Take-offs: Extracting material quantities and specifications from architectural and engineering drawings (CAD, Tekla).
Technical Pricing: Calculating costs for raw materials, fabrication labour, specialist coatings (galvanizing / painting), and site erection.
Value Engineering: Identifying cost-saving alternatives for clients without compromising structural integrity.
Supplier Negotiation: Managing relationships with steel stockholders and subcontractors to secure the best market rates.
