Job Title: Estimator

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (dependent on experience) Location: Bedford Sector: Residential Construction (New Build & Refurbishment)

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing construction team based in Bedford. The role will focus primarily on residential projects, including new build housing and refurbishment works. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting the pre-construction process, and contributing to successful tender outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for residential new build and refurbishment projects.

* Analyse drawings, specifications, schedules, and other tender documentation.

* Carry out material take-offs and labour pricing.

* Obtain and assess quotations from subcontractors and suppliers.

* Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders.

* Work closely with Directors, Project Managers, and Commercial teams during bid preparation.

* Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits, and post-tender reviews as required.

* Maintain and update pricing databases and cost benchmarks.

* Assist with tender handovers to the delivery team upon contract award.
