Field Engineer - ESEL Installation ProjectLocation: Nationwide (UK) Contract Type: Outside IR35 Shift Pattern: Sunday-Thursday nights (out of hours)OverviewWe are recruiting experienced Field Engineers to support a large scale Electronic Shelf Label (ESEL) installation project across a national retail estate. The role involves out of hours installation and testing of ESEL hardware as part of a structured rollout programme This is an excellent opportunity for engineers seeking flexible, project-based night work with competitive hourly rates and travel allowances.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall and test ESEL hardware in retail store environments, following provided scripts and processesComplete one site installation per shift as part of a field engineering teamAdhere to all onsite health & safety and operational proceduresComplete digital sign-offs and documentation accurately and on timeUse provided technical support where requiredEnsure high-quality workmanship to prevent revisits due to engineer errorShift DetailsWorking Days: Sunday to Thursday (no weekends or bank holidays)Shift Times: Typically from store closing (8-9pm, earlier on Sundays)Shift Length: Up to 8 hours onsite per shiftArrival: 15-30 minutes prior to store closingTraining: First two shifts classed as training (unless already experienced on this project)Work Pattern: Allocated as per schedule; work not guaranteed every dayRates & Allowances (Outside IR35)Training Rate: £17.50 per hourStandard Rate: £22.50 per hourApproved Overtime (onsite): £22.50 per hourTravel time: Up to 2 hours per shift included. Any travel beyond this is claimable at £13 per hourMileage:Up to 75 miles per shift includedAdditional mileage paid at £0.33 per mileStandard rate includes per shift:Up to 8 hours onsiteUp to 2 hours travel time (1 hour each way)Parking, ULEZ, tolls, and congestion charges (where applicable to site location)Engineer RequirementsExperienced field engineer with script-based IT, EPOS, ATM, or similar project experienceBasic fault-finding capabilityComfortable working night shifts in live retail environmentsOwn vehicle (any type/size acceptable)Own laptop, tablet, or smartphone suitable for digital sign-offsMust supply own standard engineering tools, including:General toolkit and screwdriversAdjustable spanners42mm plastic pipe cuttersKnee protection (pads or cushioning)No formal accreditation required.
