Job Description
EHS Specialist – Onsite
Contract duration - 3 months to start with (high possibility to extend)
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to provide short-term, onsite support at a UK-based, regulated manufacturing and life sciences environment. Working closely with site EHS leadership, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant operations across laboratories, manufacturing, facilities, and contractor activities.
This role is ideal for an EHS professional with hands-on experience in GMP-regulated manufacturing, who enjoys being embedded in operations and making an immediate impact.
What You’ll Do
Develop, review, and update risk assessments across laboratory, facility, and construction activities
Create and deliver EHS training packages for site personnel
Conduct and review COSHH assessments in line with UK regulations
Draft, revise, and standardise SOPs to support safe and compliant operations
Support incident investigations, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions
Review RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements) and Permits to Work for onsite contractors
Provide general EHS advisory support to operational and project teams
What You’ll Bring
Minimum 3 years experience in an EHS advisory or specialist role within a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment
Background in drug, vaccine, or biopharmaceutical development strongly ; experience in other highly regulated industries (e.g. food manufacturing) will be considered
Strong working knowledge of UK HSE legislation and GMP-related EHS requirements
Proven ability to produce clear, practical EHS documentation (risk assessments, SOPs, COSHH, etc.)
Confident communicator with strong stakeholder-management skills
NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) required; NEBOSH Diploma
