We are seeking a seasoned HSE Manager with a minimum of 10 years of documented HSSE experience in the Oil and Gas and/or Construction industry. The successful candidate will support safety management on client operations across multiple North Sea sites, ensuring high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
The ideal candidate will:
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Have proven, practical experience supervising hazardous site activities
Be confident in field coaching and workforce engagement
Demonstrate sound theoretical knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and internationally recognised best practices
Be competent, proactive, and self-sufficient, operating in line with Company and Client procedures with minimal supervision
Be fluent in professional-level English
Minimum Requirements:
10+ years in Oil & Gas, Civil, and/or Construction industry
10+ years in HSSE-specific roles
Degree in a technical or engineering discipline ()
Certified OHS Professional under relevant legislation
Valid Confined Space Entry and Working at Height certification
Relevant workplace/occupational health and safety qualifications
Demonstrated on-site operational HSE experience in construction and asset maintenance projects
Familiarity with civil and building construction, installation, and commissioning processes
Solid understanding of HazID, risk assessments, JSA, and PTW systems
Strong working knowledge of international safety practices, especially IOGP standards
Technical understanding of distribution and pipeline systems – brownfield site experience is a plus
Effective at all levels of communication – from field workers to executive management
Physically fit and willing to conduct site inspections in confined spaces and at height. Medical fitness to OGUK standards is recommended
Desirable Qualifications:
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
Lead Auditor Qualification in OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site safety walks and inspect high-risk activities and PTW compliance
Review and support risk assessments, JSA, and method statements
Deliver Toolbox Talks and daily Pre-Work Safety Checks
Provide hands-on supervision and on-the-job coaching for contractor staff
Identify unsafe acts/conditions and prepare detailed observation reports with corrective actions
Monitor the implementation of safety measures and track closure of issues
Support the execution of regional and company-wide HSSE programmes and initiatives
Deliver HSE training sessions aligned with client procedures and industry standards
Review emergency and rescue plans, assist in emergency exercise coordination
Submit regular HSE reports to client and company management as per reporting requirements
