Job Description
Environmental & Sustainability Manager – Sizewell C
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Site Compliance , you will provide environmental and sustainability leadership across the SZC site and supply chain, ensuring full compliance with environmental permits, licences, and regulatory commitments.
You’ll play a key role in driving environmental culture, managing risk, and working closely with regulators, Tier 1 contractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage environmental & sustainability activities across site
Ensure compliance with environmental permits, consents, and licences
Drive best-in-class environmental behaviour across SZC and the supply chain
Maintain ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System compliance
Lead engagement with regulators, particularly the Environment Agency
Oversee environmental inspections, surveillance, KPIs, and reporting
Investigate environmental events and deliver performance improvements
Identify and mitigate significant environmental risks and impacts
Build strong relationships with contractors, regulators, and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Degree in an environmental or sustainability-related discipline
Extensive experience leading E&S teams on large, complex construction or infrastructure projects
Strong understanding of environmental permits, licences, and regulatory frameworks
Proven experience working with regulators in highly regulated environments
Broad construction lifecycle knowledge (civils, mechanical, electrical, completions)
Confident leader with strong influencing and communication skills
Experience with ISO 14001 and environmental management systems
Background in major infrastructure, energy, nuclear, or similarly regulated sectors
