Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Area: Bury, Greater Manchester Start Date: Monday 20th April 2026 or ASAP Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £525 - £600 per week / Competitive (dependent on experience and responsibilities) Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
About the school:
We are partnering with a welcoming, specialist SEND school in Bury that nurtures every child's potential. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, SEMH, and other complex learning requirements. Here, teaching goes beyond the classroom - pupils are encouraged to explore, engage, and develop at their own pace, supported by a team committed to their wellbeing and growth.
About the role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team
What We're Looking For:
Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting) Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach Strong understanding of Autism and SEND A relevant TA qualification
To be eligible you must:
Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application Provide two professional child related references
