About the Role
We are seeking an English Teacher to join a secondary school situated on the border of the New Forest, close to Hythe. This long-term role begins in January 2026 and will run until at least Easter, with the possibility of continuing through to July 2026 or becoming permanent.
You will be teaching English across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping students to develop their literacy, analytical skills, and appreciation of literature. Lesson plans and resources will be provided, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging and inspiring lessons that bring English to life.
This role is open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). Overseas-trained teachers with experience of the UK curriculum are also encouraged to apply.

This is a well-established secondary school for students aged 11–16, rated “Good” by Ofsted. Located on the edge of the New Forest, the school benefits from a beautiful setting and a strong sense of community.

Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Recent experience teaching English in UK secondary schools.
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Passionate about English and able to inspire students through creative and effective teaching.
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 preferred.
Collaborative and adaptable approach.
Competitive pay rates (£150 – £250 per day).
Long-term contract until at least Easter, with potential for extension or permanent appointment.
