Job Title : English Teacher (Prisons)

Salary : From £30,000 (DOE)
Contract Type : Full-time, Permanent
Role & Client Overview :
We have an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join our clients team, based on-site at HMP The Mount . In this role, you will deliver Higher-Level English tutoring , working with small groups of learners within the prison to help develop their skills, knowledge, and behaviours .
You will support learners in achieving their long-term goals and aspirations , ensuring that appropriate training plans, advice, and guidance are in place. Our tutors are passionate about delivering high-quality, engaging courses that help learners reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities :
Deliver Higher-Level English tutoring to small groups of learners.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
Ensure training plans are in place and provide guidance and support when required.
Monitor learner progress and provide regular feedback .
Use a range of teaching methods to support different learning styles.
Maintain accurate records of learner achievements and assessments.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality courses that meet awarding body and quality standards .
Essential/Desirable Criteria :
Essential :
Level 3 English qualification (or equivalent).
Significant experience in delivering English training .
Strong ability to use a variety of teaching methods to engage learners.
Desirable :
A teaching or assessing qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
Experience delivering training in prison education or similar environments .
(If you do not currently hold a teaching or assessing qualification, support will be provided to achieve this as part of your probationary period.)
