About the RoleWe are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Early Career Teacher (ECT) of English to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school near Braintree from September.

This role is ideal for a motivated individual at the beginning of their teaching career who is eager to inspire a love of language and literature in young people, while developing their teaching practice within a nurturing and collaborative environment. You will join a committed English department focused on delivering engaging and high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging and challenging English lessons
• Inspire students to develop strong reading, writing, and analytical skills
• Assess and monitor student progress in line with school policies
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
• Take part in the school's structured ECT induction programme
• Contribute to enrichment opportunities such as literacy initiatives, clubs, or trips

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be on track to achieve it
• A degree in English or a related subject
• A passion for English language and literature
• Strong classroom management skills and a proactive approach
• A commitment to ongoing professional development
