About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic, patient, and skilled Academic Tutor to work 1:1 with a highly able Year 5 learner who presents with ASD and ADHD. This pupil is academically advanced and requires stretching, challenging learning activities that extend beyond the standard curriculum. Sessions take place every day for 2 hours at midday.

The tutor will design stimulating, higher-level tasks across Maths, English, and wider curriculum topics while supporting focus, engagement, and confidence through structure and personalised strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver daily 2-hour sessions providing academic stretch and enrichment.
• Plan challenging, engaging activities tailored to a high-ability Year 5 learner.
• Use strategies that support ASD and ADHD needs, including structure, clarity, and positive reinforcement.
• Foster a calm, motivating environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking.
• Monitor progress and share brief feedback as required.

Requirements

• Experience working with SEN learners, particularly ASD and/or ADHD.
• At least 6 months expereience in the last 5 years in UK schools
• Strong understanding of upper-KS2 curriculum and ability to extend beyond it.
• Creative, organised, and confident in delivering academically challenging content.
• Able to build rapport and maintain focus through supportive structure and routine.
