Engineering Team Leader    \n (FMCG) \n £46,000 \n\nA FMCG business in the Nottingham area is gearing up for the launch of a brand new site opening this year.  Before the shiny new kit arrives, they’re bringing in an Engineering Team Leader who can be involved from the very start. The setup, commissioning, supplier visits, and helping shape how engineering is run on day one.\n\nThis isn’t a “keep the lights on” role.

It’s about building something properly.\n\nThe Role:\n\nYou’ll be working a 4 on 4 off, days and nights pattern, leading the on-site engineering team and supporting the Engineering Manager through a critical transition period.\n\nBefore the new site goes live, you’ll spend time:\n\nSupporting engineering operations at the current site\nVisiting suppliers and OEMs\nGetting involved in machinery installation and commissioning\nSpending time at another UK site to learn best practice from an established engineering operation\nOnce the new site is live, you’ll be central to keeping performance high, downtime low, and standards where they should be.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing:\n\nLeading, coaching and motivating the engineering team to deliver strong shift performance\nEnsuring breakdowns are dealt with quickly and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment\nPlanning and executing preventative maintenance to maximise uptime\nManaging contractors, suppliers and external engineering support\nMaking sure engineering standards, documentation and compliance are consistently met\nSupporting continuous improvement across reliability, performance and safety\nThis is a hands on leadership role. You’ll be expected to lead from the front, not from an office.\n\nWhat they’re looking for:\n\nThis is important - They’re not looking for someone ready for a step up. They want someone who is already operating as an engineering team leader.
