I'm working with a leading UK food manufacturer that's investing heavily in its people, processes, and technology and they're looking for a Maintenance Engineering Shift Lead to join their high-performing site in Clitheroe.
If you're a hands-on engineer with strong leadership skills and a passion for driving improvements, this role will give you the autonomy, variety, and influence to make a real difference. You'll lead a skilled engineering team in a fast-paced production environment, keeping the lines running smoothly and ensuring standards are consistently high.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and participate in preventative and reactive maintenance to achieve department KPIs
Spot and implement improvements to maintenance plans using root cause analysis
Keep downtime to a minimum through proactive planning and rapid response
Manage stock, order parts, and control costs
Oversee contractors and permit systems on shift
Act as cover for the Maintenance Manager when required
Maintain strict health, safety, and food safety compliance
Coach, mentor, and motivate your team to deliver top performance
What We're Looking For
Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (multi-skilled )
Minimum 2 years as a time-served Engineer, ideally within food or FMCG manufacturing
At least 1 year in a leadership role - or proven people-management skills
Strong experience with Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM)
Problem-solving ability and a continuous improvement mindset
