Engineering Manager – Water Permanent or Contract Manchester M32 Location & Working Arrangements Full-time Occasional site visits (travel expenses reimbursed) Occasional work from home possible with prior agreement
Purpose Manage a multi-disciplinary engineering team and lead the delivery of water industry designs, ensuring time, quality, safety, and client expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities Direct, mentor, and develop multi-disciplinary engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates. Identify, develop, and implement safe, efficient, and value-engineered design solutions; communicate these effectively to clients and project teams. Act as the Professional Head for the design function. Guide design activities to ensure compliance with relevant technical, professional, and water company standards; approve design packages. Identify and implement appropriate software tools; promote the use of BIM and 3D modelling where required. Manage the production of integrated design deliverables that meet safety and quality requirements. Review, interpret, and brief teams on standards, procedures, and updates.
