Job Description

Nicholas Associates are working in partnership with a well-known Groundworks Contractor who deliver high-quality civil engineering, infrastructure, and groundworks services to top 10 housebuilders across the North West.\n\nDue to continued growth, they are now seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role, supporting construction, commercial, and H&S teams through the management and communication of all technical aspects relating to ongoing projects.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities;\n\n· Attend tender reviews, pre start meetings\n\n· Liaise with commercial teams to ensure all necessary permits/licences are either in place or planned.\n\n· Carry out take offs, checks, approvals and scheduling of material call offs where necessary\n\n· Production of build programmes (infrastructure works).\n\n· Ensure earthworks strategy is in place and understood by all departments (3D models, stockpile locations, cut/fill/surplus quantities).\n\n· Ensure all pre start checks have been carried out and survey has been undertaken.\n\n· Liaise with adopting authorities (highways and sewers).\n\n· Ensure site teams and sub contractors are constructing to correct specifications\n\n· Oversee & monitor engineers with respect to setting out, as built drawings (roads, sewers)\n\n· Manage and oversee all adoption works\n\n· Production of 3D modelling, cut/fill and earthworks analysis.\n\nExperience & Skills Required;\n\n· Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (not essential)\n\n· Previous experience as a Site Engineer (on residential groundworks projexts)\n\n· Strong knowledge of: Sewers for Adoption and Section 38, 111, 228, 278 works\n\n· Proficient in AutoCAD\n\n· Good communication and management skills\n\n· Ability to organise workload effectively for the purpose of meeting deadlines\n\n· Ability to work autonomously and flexibly, responding to business needs\n\n· Team Player\n\nWhat's on Offer:\n\n· Competitive Package: Rewarding salary, bonus scheme, company car or car allowance, and comprehensive benefits package.\n\n· Leadership Opportunity: Oversee engineering operations and ensure high-quality delivery across multiple sites.\n\n· Influence & Impact: Play a key role in implementing technical best practices and ensuring compliance with all regulations.\n\n· Career Growth: Exposure to senior management strategy and opportunities to progress into wider technical leadership roles.\n\nGreat company, great people, please contact John Ashcroft at Nicholas Associates for more information (phone number removed)\n\nAbout Us\n\nWe are dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
