Engineering Manager | Hands-on | Typescript | Python | FinTech | Hybrid London | Up to £140k

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager within a high-growth fintech/data intelligence scaleup. This is a hybrid role that combines hands-on technical expertise with line management and team development.

The Role

Hands-on Engineering Manager, leading a team of 4–9 engineers across FE, BE, Full-Stack, Mobile, and Platform. You’ll guide architecture, drive delivery, step into the code when needed, and influence product direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high-performing engineering team, growing it over time.
• Stay hands-on: solve technical challenges, support incidents, validate architecture.
• Own system design, architecture decisions, and engineering quality within your domain.
• Establish engineering best practices and build trust across teams.

Tech Stack: Python, TypeScript, AWS

Key Requirements

• Senior-level engineer with strong technical depth with Typescript and/or Python
• Proven line management experience (you enjoy developing people).
• Experience conducting 1-1s, performance reviews etc.
• Robust systems design and architecture skills - able to design, critique, and scale complex systems.
• Hands-on mindset: can dive into code and lead by doing when needed.
