Job Description

This role offers a brilliant opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to take responsibility for a small team of engineering professionals designing new and existing products in an expanding North Yorkshire based business. \n\nClient Details\n\nMichael Page Engineering & Manufacturing are working with an expanding UK business, based in North Yorkshire, who provide a bespoke range of high-quality, high-precision products to a growing international customer base.\n\nThis innovative business is looking for a passionate, driven and knowledgeable Design Manager to help further the success of the business and grow the product base in line with current customer demands. \n\nDescription\n\nThe Design Manager will have full responsibility for the development of new and existing products, whilst helping to shape the future landscape of the business.\n\nOther day to day responsibilities will include:\n\nManagement of the engineering department consisting of 4 Design Engineers\nCurrent product development as well as new product introduction\nEnsuring product and process quality in line with ISO 9001 specifications\nPlanning, delivery and resource management of all CAD outputs\nReducing time to manufacture through effective DFMEA strategies\nBudget responsibility for the engineering department Profile\n\nSuccessful candidates will have a strong design background and a proven ability to lead high performing teams.

You will possess:\n\nA demonstrable background in design and leadership\nA hands-on, development led approach\nTenacity, drive and passion about the product base you are working with\nAn inquisitive nature\nA proven track record in people management and development\nStrong, working knowledge of SolidWorks (or similar) \nRelevant understanding of an MRP system\nIdeally have a background in industrial machinery, capital equipment or similar Job Offer\n\nSalary of c. £55-65k, wider benefits package and a chance to work at a growing UK business
