The Opportunity

Essex Highways manages one of the largest highway networks in the country, including 5,000 miles of roads and footways. Essex Highways is a partnership between Essex County Council and a contractual partner.

The Engineers will ensure a safe, sustainable highway network through asset management, scheme identification, delivery, maintenance, and management. The role involves liaising with elected members, district councils, and other stakeholders, managing work programs in line with council strategies.

The role requires mobility across the operational area, so a driving license and access to a vehicle are necessary or alternative mobility arrangements.
