Job Description
Sustainability Consultant - Building Physics & Carbon\nOxford | Hybrid working | Up to £45k\n\nA well-established UK-based multidisciplinary consultancy is continuing to invest in the growth of its Sustainability and Building Performance capability in London.\n\nAs part of this expansion, the consultancy is looking to appoint a Sustainability Consultant to join its London team. This role is well suited to someone with a strong grounding in Building Physics, who is looking to broaden their exposure to Whole Life Carbon (WLC) within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.\n\nThe Role\nYou'll work closely with senior consultants and technical leads to deliver sustainability and building performance services across a broad range of projects. The role is technically focused, with an emphasis on building physics and operational energy, alongside exposure to Whole Life Carbon assessments.\n\nKey responsibilities will include:\n\nDelivering building physics and energy modelling services to support low-carbon design.\nUndertaking dynamic thermal modelling, overheating analysis and operational energy studies.\nSupporting Whole Life Carbon assessments, working alongside more experienced carbon specialists where required.\nCollaborating with architects, MEP engineers and wider design teams to influence sustainable outcomes.\nContributing to sustainability strategies and reports for planning and design stages.\nSupporting senior team members with project delivery and client engagement.\nAbout You\n\nExperience working in a sustainability or building physics consultancy environment.\nStrong technical capability in Building Physics / Energy Modelling (IES-VE or similar).\nSome exposure to Whole Life Carbon or embodied carbon assessments (you do not need to be a carbon specialist).\nA good understanding of low-carbon design principles and building performance.\nComfortable working collaboratively within multidisciplinary design teams.\nKeen to continue developing both technical and client-facing skills.\nWhy Join?\n\nJoin a growing Sustainability team with clear investment and long-term plans in London.\nWork within a multidisciplinary consultancy where sustainability is integrated with building services, structures and cost consultancy.\nGain exposure to both Building Physics and Whole Life Carbon, with scope to specialise over time.\nStrong support for professional development, training and career progression.\nOpportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects across multiple sectors.\nWhether you're working in the larger corporate companies or a small SME this is certainly one to take note of.
