Our client has a vacancy for an Employment Solicitor (2 to 5 years PQE). The ideal candidate should be hard-working, out-going and a good team player. Experience of working in a city or medium/large provincial practice is desirable.

You should have a keen interest in employment law and be able to discuss knowledgeably topical employment law issues.\nKNOWLEDGE OF:\n * Advising on day-to-day HR and employment law issues\n * Drafting employment contracts, policies, and staff handbooks\n * Handling and advising Settlement Agreements, Redundancy Matters, and Employment Tribunal claims\n * Supporting corporate transactions with employment law input (TUPE, due diligence, etc.)\n * Assisting with business development, client training sessions, and marketing initiatives\n * Exposure to both claimant and respondent employment work\nKEY SKILLS:\n• Sound legal knowledge, drafting and advisory skills\n• Experience of undertaking advocacy in court/chambers/tribunal setting\n• Experience of presenting to an audience\n• Commercial, practical and financial awareness\n• Confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels\n• Excellent interpersonal and marketing skills with the ability to develop contacts for the team and the firm\n• Problem solving\n• Strong ambition for career development\n• Team player able to fit into a friendly, busy team\n• Negotiation skills\n• Organisational ability\n• Ability to be responsible for own caseload (under supervision where relevant)\nDue to the large number of responses we receive it is not always possible to respond to every application straight away.
