The Role

We are looking for an ER Specialist to join the People Team, based in Leeds! The ER Specialist is responsible for providing expert and commercial advisory support to all our UK Gym Operations Managers. Reporting to the Head of People and joining two other ER Specialists, you can expect to be working at pace on complex casework. This role is hands-on and people-focused, allowing you to dedicate your time to resolving employee matters and identifying trends and themes to continuously improve our manager capability and HR processes.
Key duties will include:
- Supporting all line managers to build confidence and competence in dealing with any people related challenges within their team, whilst assessing risk and escalating cases to the Head of People / Divisional People Business Partners quickly.
- Identifying themes and trends with cases, having confidence to present them to the rest of the team and make recommendations to drive improvement to our policies and people management practices.
- Carrying out key activity such as manager induction check ins, prompts about probation reviews and exit interviews to gain valuable insight on how it feels to work for PureGym and suggest improvements.
- Working as a team to share best practice, apply it in a standardised way and constantly challenge the status quo where we should be aiming to achieve more, always applying a continuous improvement mindset.
- Building strong working relationships with the Divisional People Business Partners to ensure communication levels are high and that each division is provided routine insight to drive proactive activity to help reduce the reactive workload.
The Person
- Experienced HR professional with a proven track record of working in a role that provides sound advice on people related matters and queries within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to produce and analyse reports on key HR metrics.
- Solid understanding of employment law and people management practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt their style to different personality types and learning needs and styles whilst influencing to get the right outcome.
- Shows integrity and ethics in all they do including the need to act with confidentiality, discretion and professionalism.
- Meticulously organised with the ability to constantly reassess priorities throughout the day whilst working accurately and showing high attention to detail.
- A team player with a positive can-do attitude.
