Electronics Engineer (DHacs1847)

New Today

Job Description

We are recruiting an Electronics Engineer to support the transition of advanced electronic products from development into scalable, production-ready manufacturing.

This is a hands-on role focused on electronics production engineering, test development, and manufacturing optimisation, working across both R&D and production environments.

The Role

You will take ownership of the electronic aspects of production readiness, ensuring products are designed, tested, and built in a way that is robust, repeatable, and scalable.

Key areas include:

  • NPI and transfer to manufacturing
  • Production test strategy and development
  • Electronics manufacturing processes
  • Continuous improvement and fault resolution

What You Will Be Doing

New Product Introduction (NPI)

  • Support transfer of products from R&D into manufacturing
  • Define and manage BOMs within ERP systems
  • Lead electronics workstreams within NPI projects
  • Ensure designs meet DFM / DFT requirements
  • Work with design teams to deliver manufacturable solutions

Production Test & Development

  • Define and implement production test strategies
  • Design and build test fixtures, jigs, and ATE systems
  • Support development of test software and scripts
  • Deliver robust end-of-line testing and calibration

Manufacturing Process Development

  • Improve processes for:
  • PCB assembly and integration
  • Cable harnessing and electrical build
  • Calibration and system integration
  • Work with suppliers to maintain build quality and yield
  • Resolve production queries related to electronics

Continuous Improvement

  • Improve efficiency, quality, and repeatability
  • Reduce build time and increase production yield
  • Support cost reduction through design and process improvements
  • Implement engineering changes to improve manufacturability

Production Support

  • Troubleshoot PCB and system-level issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support non-conformance and CAPA processes
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods (e.g. 8D, FMEA, SPC)

Documentation & Control

  • Create clear production documentation:
  • Build and test procedures
  • Calibration and programming instructions
  • Assembly and work instructions
  • Support configuration control and engineering change processes

Cross-Functional Work

  • Act as the electronics link between R&D, Production, and Quality
  • Support supplier engagement and improvements
  • Help define standards and best practice within the team

What We Are Looking For

  • Practical, hands-on electronics engineer
  • Strong problem solver with a structured approach
  • Comfortable working across development and manufacturing
  • Detail-focused with strong documentation discipline
  • Able to improve processes, not just maintain them

Required Experience

  • Degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar
  • Experience in electronics production engineering or manufacturing
  • Strong understanding of:
  • PCB assembly and integration
  • Production test methods
  • Experience with relevant standards (e.g. ISO9001, IPC610, ESD)
  • Experience developing test fixtures or production verification processes
  • Strong fault-finding capability at circuit and system level

Desirable Experience

  • NPI experience (prototype to volume production)
  • Knowledge of DFM / DFT and lean manufacturing
  • Calibration systems and electronic measurement equipment
  • Exposure to scripting, automation, or test software
  • Experience in regulated or quality-controlled environments

What’s On Offer

  • Opportunity to shape a new Production Engineering function
  • Direct involvement in bringing advanced products into manufacture
  • Strong collaboration across engineering and production
  • Career development within a high-technology environment
  • Competitive salary and benefits

This role suits someone who can take ownership of electronics in production, ensuring products are built, tested, and delivered to a consistently high standard.
