About the Company
A leading manufacturer of high-precision scientific equipment is seeking an experienced Electronics Design Manager to lead and grow its in-house electronics engineering team. The company designs and builds advanced systems used in research institutions and industrial applications worldwide.
The Role
This is a senior role ideal for an individual with a strong technical background in electronics design who is ready to step into a leadership position. You will manage a small but growing team of junior engineers, while remaining hands-on with the design and development of complex electronic systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the design and development of electronic hardware and embedded systems for scientific instrumentation.
* Provide technical leadership and mentoring to a team of junior engineers.
* Manage project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation to ensure successful project outcomes.
* Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, software) to ensure system integration.
* Support the transition from prototype to production, including testing and troubleshooting.
* Continuously improve internal design processes and documentation standards.
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
* Extensive experience in analogue, power and digital electronics design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
* Previous experience leading or managing engineering teams (formally or informally).
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Experience with scientific or precision instrumentation is advantageous but not essential.
