Job Description
Socode are supporting a company that designs and builds specialist electronic sensing and surveillance systems, used in defence, security, and critical infrastructure environments. Their work sits at the intersection of hardware, software, and real-world deployment, with systems designed to operate reliably in demanding conditions.
They’re looking to hire a Production Technician to support the build, test, and repair of these systems. This is a genuinely hands-on role. You’ll be working directly with electronic hardware, supporting production builds and helping engineers with prototypes, investigations, and fixes when things don’t behave as expected.
What you’ll be doing
Building and testing electronic assemblies and complete systems
Setting systems up, running tests, and checking performance
Fault-finding and repairing units when issues arise
Supporting production and return repairs
Helping engineers with prototype builds and investigations
Putting together simple test setups or jigs when needed
Keeping build and test records up to date
Feeding back issues and improvements to the wider team
Keeping tools, equipment, and your work area in good order
What they’re looking for
A solid electronics background, ideally with a technical qualification
Someone comfortable working hands-on with electronic hardware
Experience building, testing, fixing, or modifying electronic equipment
A methodical, practical approach without needing close supervision
Confidence using standard lab tools and following good ESD practice
Someone reliable who finishes work properly and flags issues early
A team player who works well alongside engineers
