The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Electrician to work on a university. This role involves delivering high‑quality electrical maintenance, repairs, and small works across a diverse portfolio of academic buildings, offices, teaching spaces, and student facilities.
You will be part of a professional on‑site team, ensuring electrical systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational while providing a high standard of service to end users.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance across the university estate Diagnose and repair electrical faults efficiently to minimise disruption Complete minor installation and improvement works as required Ensure all works are undertaken in line with current wiring regulations and health & safety standards Accurately complete job records and compliance documentation using electronic systems Liaise professionally with clients, facilities staff, and other trades on site Participate in on‑call or emergency response rotas where required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Fully qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (essential) AM2 or equivalent qualification Experience working in a maintenance or estates environment (education, healthcare, or commercial preferred) Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication and customer service skills Full UK driving licence (preferred)
