Electrician / Smoke Ventilation Engineer\n(Smoke Ventilations experience is not essential)\nLocation: Manchester-based (Nationwide travel)\nHours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (flexible start/finish times)\nThe Opportunity\nAn established company is seeking an Electrician / Smoke Ventilation Engineer to join their field-based team. Working in pairs, you’ll cover sites across the North of England, and towards the Midlands, installing and maintaining life-safety systems in a variety of environments.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Install, maintain, and repair Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) systems\n * Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs\n * Ensure systems meet safety and customer requirements\n * Provide technical support and guidance to clients\n * Complete job reports and documentation accurately\n * Work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality service\n * Inspect, test, and maintain mechanical and electrical components\nWhat We’re Looking For\n * Apprentice trained (essential)\n * Electrical experience (single-phase and three-phase systems)\n * Knowledge of contactors, relays, inverters, and control panels\n * Pneumatics and compressor experience\n * 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)\n * Comfortable working at heights (essential)\n * Willingness to join an on-call rota\n * Flexibility to travel and stay away when required (primarily Scotland – all expenses paid)\n * Based in or around Manchester (essential for team pairing and logistics)\nWorking Pattern and Travel\n * Flexible hours depending on site requirements\n * Hours are balanced across the week (e.g. later finishes may result in shorter days or time off)\n * Fridays typically involve jobs closer to home\n * Occasional overnight stays required (mainly Scotland as this is further afield)\n * Company van provided\nWhat’s on Offer\n * Monday - Friday\n * £35,000\n * Company van + fuel card\n * Full training and career development\n * Employee Assistance Programme\n * Pension contribution\n * 23 days holiday + bank holidays\n * Overtime paid at 1.5x\nIf you’re an experienced Electrician / Smoke Ventilation Engineer looking for a new challenge, we’d love to hear from you
