Electrician / Electrical Instructor

We are seeking an experienced Electrician/Electrical Instructor to join our trades and vocational academy in the Bristol, VA or Kingsport, TN area. This is an ideal position for someone close to retirement, looking to share their knowledge and expertise with the next of electricians.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a big plus, but not required for employment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans covering various aspects of electrical work, including techniques, safety, tools, and materials.
Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations to students in both classroom and workshop settings.
Evaluate student progress, offering constructive feedback and guidance.
Maintain a safe and organized learning environment, following safety protocols and proper handling of tools and materials.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to improve curriculum and teaching strategies.
Stay current on industry trends, techniques, and best practices in electrical work.
Participate in professional development opportunities and maintain any necessary certifications or licenses.
Mentor students in career development and job readiness.
Qualifications:
10-15 years of professional electrical experience, preferably in both residential and commercial settings.
Strong knowledge of electrical techniques, tools, materials, and safety practices.
Experience teaching or mentoring others in electrical work or a related field.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field.
Willingness to relocate to the Bristol, VA or Kingsport, TN area.
