Overview The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for leading and managing electrical teams across multiple projects, ensuring all works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest technical standard. The role involves supervision, project coordination, technical oversight, and supporting the Electrical Operations Manager in the effective running and development of the electrical function.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Line Management
Support the Electrical Operations Manager with the daily running of the Electrical Team. Lead and organise electrical teams on site, ensuring all colleagues are fully briefed on installation requirements, safety procedures, and project expectations. Act as the primary site contact for clients across allocated electrical projects. Collaborate with Project Managers and the Electrical Operations Manager to provide updates on progress, materials, labour requirements, and any changes to scope. Support the development of team members, ensuring they gain relevant experience and meet required technical standards. Assist with succession planning, training, and conducting performance appraisals for supervised staff.
Projects & Estimation
Provide all required health and safety information to the QHSE Manager. Carry out electrical installation, repair, and maintenance works on site. Attend site surveys, meetings, and inspections for upcoming and ongoing projects. Provide accurate information to Project Managers to support costing and project planning. Coordinate with other contractors on site to ensure smooth project delivery. Escalate unforeseen installation issues and collaborate with the Electrical Operations Manager to resolve them. Assist with material ordering, logistics, travel, and accommodation planning for project teams. Estimate small electrical works as required. Review plans and specifications to determine optimal layout and equipment requirements.
Technical Responsibilities
Act as secondary Qualified Supervisor, providing resilience and technical support within the team. Deputise for the Electrical Operations Manager during absences or as required. Serve as a technical subject matter expert, supporting the development of team skills and maintaining high technical standards on site. Conduct Quality Control audits on installations to ensure compliance with RJC standards, client requirements, and current regulations.
QHSE & Compliance
Promote and ensure a positive health and safety culture, embedding best practice across all electrical activities. Carry out site safety audits to confirm teams are working in line with RAMS and company procedures. Ensure all works meet building codes, statutory regulations, and installation requirements. Perform scheduled maintenance on electrical systems. Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance adhere to manufacturer guidelines, industry codes of practice, and environmental standards. Prepare material lists for ordering and ensure timely completion of all required certifications.
