Job Title - Electrical Project Engineer

Duration - 6-8 Months

Working Model - Hybrid (2 days per week in Central London)

Hourly Rate - £35p/hour - £45p/hour Outside IR35 (dependant on experience)

Project Engineer Overview

My client is looking for someone to provide electrical engineering support on single point mooring projects for FPSO and FSO facilities, working within a small consultancy environment. The role focuses on preparing and reviewing technical documentation, supporting equipment specification, and coordinating with vendors and site teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

The Project Engineer role will involve:

• Preparing and reviewing electrical technical documentation, including equipment datasheets
• Developing electrical load lists, cable sizing and voltage drop calculations
• Preparing and reviewing specifications for electrical equipment and switchboards
• Reviewing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements
• Liaising with vendors and supporting technical queries
• Coordinating with site teams and supporting project interfaces

The Project Engineer will need to have the following attributes:

• Experience in oil & gas or petrochemical environments
• Around 5 years’ experience as an Electrical Project Engineer or in a similar role
• Good understanding of electrical systems and IEC 60079
• Familiarity with industrial communication networks
• Strong Excel and Word skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to review technical documentation and work with vendors and site teams

Desirable attributes for the Project Engineer include:

• Experience with LV switchboard packages
• Experience working on FPSO projects
• Experience with single-point mooring systems
• Experience working with classification societies
