Electrical Project Engineer - Worcester Area
Location: Worcester Area (Clean Water Site)
Contract Type: Contract (Initial term to end of year with likelihood of extension)
Reports To: MEICA Manager
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support the delivery of a clean water improvement scheme on Severn Trent Water. The project focuses on the installation and commissioning of UV disinfection systems to enhance water quality across the region.
This is a site-based role where you will play a key part in coordinating electrical works, ensuring safe delivery, and supporting the successful integration of new treatment processes within an operational water environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of electrical works associated with the UV disinfection installation.
  • Coordinate site activities to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification.
  • Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Provide technical support to installation teams and resolve on-site engineering issues.
  • Assist with inspection, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant standards and client requirements.
  • Ensure all electrical works are carried out in accordance with safe systems of work.
  • Support the implementation of risk assessments, method statements, and permit systems.
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout installation and commissioning.
  • Support the completion of QA documentation, test certificates, and as-built records.
  • Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives to coordinate works.
  • Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress and technical matters.
About You
  • Electrical engineering background with experience in water projects.
  • Experience working on site-based electrical installations.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
Qualifications
  • Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent experience).
  • 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (18th Edition preferred support to achieve available).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
  • Severn Trent Water Appointed Person ticket.
  • Experience working on water or wastewater treatment sites.
  • Knowledge of UV disinfection systems or similar treatment technologies.
