Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer – Electrical Bias (60/40)

We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established manufacturing site with strong investment plans and clear opportunities for progression.

This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants long-term career development.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide electrical and mechanical planned and reactive maintenance support across a wide range of production equipment.

You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with operations to minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reactive and planned maintenance across the site to ensure safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment

  • Electrical fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives (AC/DC), inverters, servo drives, and single/three-phase supplies

  • Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics

  • Working to PM schedules and monitoring equipment performance (OEE, downtime analysis)

  • Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activities

  • Use of a CMMS to record maintenance activities and support asset management

  • Identification and management of critical spares

  • Coaching and supporting operators with basic asset care

  • Supporting project work, installations, and improvement initiatives

Equipment You'll Work On
  • High-speed automated production machinery

  • Conveyors (roller and flatbed)

  • Cutters, wrappers, strappers

  • Boilers, compressors, and steam systems

  • Large-scale manufacturing and processing equipment

What We're Looking For
  • Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (approx. 60–70% electrical)

  • Level 3 Electrical qualification minimum (apprentice trained preferred)

  • At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or factory environment

  • Strong PLC fault-finding skills (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley preferred)

  • Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics

  • Confident working independently and as part of a team

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability

  • Good communication skills and a professional approach

  • Stability in employment (not a job hopper)

Shift Pattern
  • Rotating shifts (early, late, nights – weekdays only)

  • No contracted weekends

  • Paid overtime available

  • Holiday cover paid at enhanced rates

Package
  • Salary: £50,000
