Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Industrial)
Location: March, Cambridgeshire
Salary: £45,000 rising to £47,500 after probation
Hours: 42 hours per week, Monday to Friday (07:30 – 17:00)
Call-out: 1 in 4 rota
The Role
AQUMEN Recruitment is recruiting for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a busy industrial processing site in March.
You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving plant equipment, ensuring maximum reliability through planned maintenance and fast response to breakdowns. This is a hands-on role working across electrical and mechanical systems within a proactive engineering team.
Key Responsibilities of an Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
Diagnose faults on electrical and mechanical equipment
Maintain accurate records using engineering systems
Support continuous improvement of plant performance
Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling
Manage spare parts and liaise with suppliers
Supervise contractors and ensure safe systems of work
Support site projects and upgrades
Health & Safety
Follow all H&S procedures, risk assessments, and PPE requirements
Report and support investigations into incidents and near misses
Promote a strong safety culture on site
About You
Essential:
Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Engineering Maintenance
Electrical bias with 17th or 18th Edition (18th )
Experience in heavy industrial environments
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience with motors, pumps, gearboxes, valves, and bearings
PLC fault-finding knowledge (Allen Bradley desirable)
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
Good IT skills and full UK driving licence
Desirable:
Experience in AD, waste water, or similar industries
SCADA system exposure
IOSH or NEBOSH
